Four Days to be Admired on the Schelde Quays
ARC Gloria : Soon the impressive Colombian sailing ship or Tallship ARC Gloria will sail into Antwerp (Belgium)! From Friday, May 31 to Tuesday, June 3, the three-master will be docked at the Schelde Quays, where it can be viewed free of charge.
The ARC Gloria is more than just another ship. It is the training ship and official flagship of the Colombian Navy. Built in 1968, this 56-meter ship is a true showpiece on the water.

Antwerp: Ancor Port for Tall Ships Races
The arrival of the ARC Gloria is not accidental. Antwerp is hosting the famous Tall Ships Races in 2026 and 2030, for the eighth and ninth time already. In the run-up to this event, the city as ‘ friendly host port’ regularly receives a tall ship, such as now the ARC Gloria. The city and Port of Antwerp-Bruges hope that the ARC Gloria will also be present during the 2026 Tall Ships Races.
Strong Ties between Colombia and Antwerp
The link between Antwerp and Colombia is strong. Antwerp is the main European import port for tropical fruits such as bananas, pineapples and avocados. Moreover, it is the largest coffee port in the world: its warehouses store the equivalent of 27 billion cups. This makes Port of Antwerp-Bruges the most important European port for Colombia.
